Exterior House Painters in Glenwood, MD
Painting an old home, especially one that is historic, requires attention to detail in order to preserve its character and structure. There are some unique challenges when it comes to painting an older home. Being that the surfaces are old, they have many layers of paint and are typically not in the best condition. Pealing, cracks, moisture and rot are all common issues. Some areas may even need to be replaced prior to painting. Proper surface preparation is key and usually needs to be done by hand which is less abrasive. It is important not to damage the integrity of the substrate. After proper surface prep is complete then it is time to start priming and painting.
