Being a local business for 20+ years has given us the opportunity to help maintain many of the churches here and the surrounding communities. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to paint the Exterior of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in downtown Sykesville, MD.

Exterior Painting poses several dangers. Especially when it comes to any surface that requires a ladder to reach. Using ladders on uneven surfaces, slippery surfaces on simply not having it properly set up can cause a fall.  The higher up the surface, the greater the danger. Reaching a high surface to paint is hard enough, actually painting it while you are up there is even harder. At Painting Contractors of MD we take safety very serious. We eliminate the dangers of high work by utilizing one of our company owned lifts. This ensures that our employees are properly trained on the use and safety of the machine and are very familiar with it.

Do you have a Farm or Farmette that needs a face lift? Simply painting the barns and/or outbuildings can drastically change the appearance and aesthetics of the property.

Due to the nature of these structures, typically large with old wood, barns and out buildings tend to get neglected. Not to mention, the constant abuse from the livestock. When the time comes to tackle the project there can be an extensive amount of prep work before the actual painting can begin. One of our recent Barn Painting Projects was this horse run in located in Woodbine, MD. Before the painting could begin, this barn got a thorough wash to remove all the dirt and debris. Then we hand scraped all the surfaces to be painted to remove all the remaining loose and pealing paint. This non abrasive method insured that we did not damage any of the wood during the process. Last, we applied two coats of Premium Sherwin Williams  Solid Wood Stain.

As we head into the spring season, the weather starts to warm up and freezing overnight temperatures taper off. This means it is time for the Exterior Painting Season to begin. Our staff looks forward to this season every year. After being cooped up painting inside all year, carrying tools in and out through the cold, snow and rain, they are excited to be working outside in the fresh air. The Best Customers to work for are the ones that we have serviced in the past. Approximately 50 % of our current work load comes from repeat customers. The second best customer is one whos house is vacant. This project was one of our favorites this year because it checked both boxes! A longtime past customer, purchased a new home and wanted everything looking top notch before they moved in. This entire house got a top to bottom full repaint, with high-end Ben Moore products. Painting Exposed Ceilings

Painting an exposed ceiling can make your space look more modern as well as  improve functionality. It is a great cost effective alternative to hanging drywall or installing a drop ceiling.

Although a project like this looks simple, there are many things to consider. Most importantly is that the paint must be applied with a sprayer. It is virtually impossible to get around and behind all the different surfaces with a brush and roller. Not to mention the incredible amount of time it would take. As you can guess, using a sprayer in between ceiling joists comes with its own challenges and is better left to a professional! Have you ever thought about living in a Barn?!

 

Check out this awesome project located in New Windsor, MD that we are so excited to be a part of. This Historic Barn was torn down, moved, and rebuilt into a beautiful new home! We have recently started the first phase of painting, which includes priming the new drywall and painting the ceilings. This will be an ongoing project with many different paint phases.

With extremely tall ceilings, exposed beams and a variety of difficult to reach surfaces, this type of project requires an experienced painting company that has the tools, skills and knowledge!

Many areas are out of reach from ground level, creating the need for a ladder.  Not only one ladder, but many different types, styles and sizes of ladders. When you are talking about Exterior Painting Projects there is no shortage when it comes to farms and equestrian facilities. There is seemingly an unlimited amount of surface space that is in need of constant maintenance, typically meaning a fresh coat of paint! Whether it be a barn, shed, stable, fencing or gates. These high traffic areas endure a considerable amount of abuse. It is extremely important to regularly inspect these surfaces and keep them well coated with a high quality exterior paint. One of the main benefits of routine painting is that it keeps your long term replacement costs down. It is far less expensive to apply a fresh coat of paint then to replace rotten wood and rusted metal. Another benefit is that routine painting is actually more efficient, i.e. less expensive. Applying one quick coat to simply freshen up is certainly more efficient then the time consuming prep/ scraping process, sanding, priming and possibly two top coats.
