We just finished this beautiful retro kitchen in Howard County, MD. As with many houses that pass down through families through multiple generations, there’s a great feeling of nostalgia with new generations wanting to update but keep some of the things they remember as kids growing up in the house. It’s great to be able to keep some of the old while updating the room, like this client who wanted to update the kitchen with a new look while still enjoying some of the original features of the house— including the cabinetry. The solution was to dismantle the existing kitchen, combine the old cabinets with new ones, and give it a uniform paint job to tie it all together. With the final touches of classic hardware and a vintage refrigerator, this kitchen not only turned out amazing but almost gives you the sense of traveling back in time while cooking family dinners!
